What are you cooking up when it comes to success? Did you ever think that there are ingredients to success?
It’s the same as using a recipe when preparing a meal or baking a cake. We start with the end in mind and then check to make sure we have all the ingredients before we begin. We know if we leave something out we won’t get the results we want and may even ruin the meal or the cake. But how about your ‘Formula for Success’ in your career, finances, wellbeing and relationships?
For sure there is a recipe for Success and although most people follow it they either leave out the main ingredient or they only add a pinch of this special ingredient instead of the full measure.
So what is this important ingredient, you ask? Here is a hint……..
“Whatever the mind can conceive and
believe it can achieve.”
– Napoleon Hill
THE KEY INGREDIENT IS BELIEF!!!! … Unwavering BELIEF!
Napoleon Hill explains, “With belief (conviction) in your desired results you can achieve them regardless of how many times you may have failed in the past, or how lofty your hopes may be.”
The ingredient of Belief is the secret sauce of life. Success lies in positive thinking; a positive mental attitude is vital to success. It’s something that needs to be cultivated and developed into a habit.
In the best selling book THINK AND GROW RICH Napoleon Hill outlines his formula for success on how to attain riches in life.
Two of Napoleon Hills Steps to Riches ….
- Have a Definite Purpose. Are you clear on your WHAT and your WHY? … What is the most important thing you want to accomplish? Think about your life purpose and define it.
- Have Faith: Visualizing and Believing in the attainment of that which you desire. Use daily affirmations and view pictures (a vision board) of your goals. Think from your vision not your circumstances!!!
Faith is something we all have but if it is used in Reverse Gear by focusing on: *Circumstance *Things you don’t want *The thing you fear….it will keep you from success. Courage comes from having the Belief in what you are doing. A positive mind set is the difference between failure and success. Napoleon Hill said, “That when doubt creeps into your mind, remember that what so ever a man believes, he also shall reap”.
Personally, I have always believed in the power of thought and I have given myself permission to be a BIG THINKER. John Maxwell says, “As long as you are thinking you might as well think BIG”. From an early age, I believed I would reach success even when my circumstances screamed out “failure”. I chose to live in my vision and believed I would command a huge income even when the true circumstances (the balance) of my bank account were low.
I believed that if something I wanted to do had already been accomplished by someone than it must be doable, and I asked myself “Why not for me?”.
Believe and Achieve. Doubt and Do Without.
Throughout my life I have been fortunate to have had a powerful circle of influence. Big Thinkers, Believers in Miracles, people with “Can Do” attitudes and disciplined thinking (Positive Mental Attitude).
The following poem is one that was often shared by one of my mentors….
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;
For Life is just an employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have paid.” -Jessie B Rittenhouse
Are you living in your Vision of Greatness or are you a keeping yourself a prisoner of your circumstances? Are you willing to step out on Faith? ….. Who are you listening to?
I would love for you to be a part of my Circle of Influence…. Every year I gather women from all walks of life and companies for an elite retreat. This year’s retreat is to be held in the Poconos in Pa. in September. Why not step out of your circumstances and register to be there? https://barbarasunden.com/retreat/
