There is a great quote from JFK….
“Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.”
Whether you attend a mid year event or the ‘kick-off” event for the company’s new year after the event is over there are many directions you can go in and things to focus on. However success is in a ‘fast start to actions’ that lead to productive outcomes. In thinking about this I made a list of some Success Tips for what to do after you have attended a company event to Engage, Increase and Expand your business.
One eighth of Leadership is sales ability…As you may know sales is a skill ; calendaring, planning and working with people. The good news is a ‘skill’ is learnable ….. the question we must ask ourselves is:
“Am I teachable?”….. or better yet, “Am I willing to learn what I need to learn?” I have listed 7 steps to success and each week I will discuss them in detail in my blog. There is a saying that to succeed you must hit the road running…. And how important it is to act quickly after attending a company event. To act on our dreams, hopes and the vision that we captured, we need to take action on what is importantand productive as well as in creating a momentum that will carry us and our team forward.
7 Success Tips ….
- Engage
How important to connect with your team. Plan an event either in person or a conference call or online teleconference to share with everyone what you have learned.
- Communicate
Fill your calendar with appointments… Get client appointments on the books….Share new products. Increase your sales, spend time on customer care or finding more customers locally or in another state.
…. Make sure your clients know that they matter…. Teach good customer service to your team.
It is time to know your business
- Be Profitable
Momentum multiplies profit.
- Take action
Look for ways to improve … to find better systems and procedures or spend more time on increasing your cash flow. To be successful you do not have to be working 24/7. Quite to the contrary a better plan is working 30 hours a week and having time to spend with family. However, be sure that the thirty hours of activities are beneficial to your business!
- Manage Your Team
Train them. Define their roles; discuss objective, responsibilities and deadlines. Clearly articulate a vision.
- Accountability
Inspect what you expect….Goals need to be measurable… and how important to know someone is tracking your efforts. Leaders are strong points of accountability.
7. Apprentice… Leadership development/legacy. Lead by example. Model the business and behavior of a leader for those wanting Leadership development. Leaders Take the Lead by doing what is necessary to build and sustain their personal business …. And then they can guide, lead and help others develop into leaders.
We don’t use people to build a business…
We use the business to build people.
