How often have we heard someone reference the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Life is Journey not a Destination.”? What a marvelous question to ask yourself? It seems in today’s world the main focus each day is the TO DO LIST … to hurry from one event or appointment to another. A society that is ‘DESTINATION FOCUSED’! but I ask, “How’s that working for you?”.
We get one life to live and we can Design it anyway we Choose if we will take time to press the PAUSE button and ask ourselves “What would I love?” and to think about and Imagine designing a life that can serve you with joy, laughter, healthy living, and time and money freedom.
All of this is possible if we dare to plan out our journey and think about what we’re doing in the moment, what we do daily in pursuit of our Dreams. Being too busy or always in a rush is actually a sign of lack. When you are always feeling and thinking you don’t have enough time to get everything done then that is a message to yourself that you are not in charge. Its like the tail wagging the dog. Endless busyness becomes your routine instead of choosing to create a step by step plan to design the life you would love living.
So how can you enjoy Life’s journey?
Ask yourself some hard questions… a. If I were living the life I love, what would my life look like in 1 year, in 3 years?
b. What would you do if you cannot fail; if there are no limitations in money or resources?
c. What am I grateful for?
2. Test your dreams …Are my goals right for me? Test them by asking these 5 Questions…
- Does my Dream make me feel alive?
- Does my Dream fit with my core values?
- Is the dream gong to require me to grow?
- Do I need help from a higher power to accomplish this dream?
- Is there some good in my dream for others?
Steve Jobs – “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Life truly is a JOURNEY not a DESTINATION. What is the Top Priority in your life right now and what are you doing to live the life you love? Staying in your comfort zone holds you back from experiencing life and fulfilling your dreams of what you have always wanted to do. Your current conditions do not predict your future … you can advance confidently in any direction you wish. How will you use this knowledge to do that one thing you have always wanted to do?
