It is said that if you want to know what you have been thinking just look around at your life; career, health, relationship and your financial picture. You can tell how you’ve been thinking about your life by looking at the Outer picture for it is a reflection of your inner thoughts and beliefs.
That’s why people often say “what you think about you bring about”. Louise Hay, author and speaker, talks about the benefits of using affirmations to make changes in your life. She says affirmations are our self-talk and that unfortunately most times our self-talk is negative but by changing the self-talk to positive affirmations we benefit.
Shad Helmstetter, author of the book What You Say When You Talk to Yourself, teaches that self-talk has an impact on our behavior and deserve level (our self-image). Author Dr. Maxwell Maltz, in his book, The Magic Power of Self Image Psychology, states that we cannot out-perform our self-image. That’s why working harder will not give us sustainable increase in our results if we don’t first change our self-talk and eliminate limiting thoughts. It is important to get in the habit of using positive affirmations. Affirmations are anything you say to yourself.
The key to being successful is to consistently say and think positive, expansive thoughts because what you think about (and say) will become your self-fulfilling prophecy.
