“THERE BUT FOR ME GO I” ….an interesting statement indeed! To me this is an ‘AHA’ statement ; one that seems to need to be read a few times to resonate.
“THERE BUT FOR ME GO I” ….
Often we wonder why we feel stuck or frustrated because we can’t seem to move the needle on our achievement level. Soon we come to realize that working harder and doing more does not change things. The problem is most often based on our self-image.
BOB PROCTOR tells us, “YOU CAN’T OUTPERFORM YOUR SELF IMAGE”.
Self-Image is the belief you have of your abilities, appearance, and personality. Whatever you believe about yourself on the inside is what you will manifest on the outside. Success is an inside job!
The good news is that we you can create a positive self-image and one way to do that is with the use of positive affirmations. The key to understanding the importance of positive affirmations is to understand that Words trigger pictures in our mind and since we think in pictures it is necessary to feed our minds with affirming messages. These positive declarations are also known as Positive self-talk.
“To come to a life full of power, we must change our words to ourselves. Affirmations are a means to change inner weakness to positive strength. By repeating an affirmation over and over again, it becomes embedded in the subconscious mind and eventually it becomes your reality.” – Bernie Siegle
- Use Short affirmations – A. Write them on a card so you can read them. B. Memorize your favorite affirmations so they come quickly to mind.
- Use Positive Affirmations A.Leave out the “can’ts” and the “don’ts”. B. Make them positive declarations.
At a training session I recently conducted on the topic of positive affirmations with a group of emerging leaders. We discussed how important it is to establish the daily habit of using positive statements.
However, even though everyone in the training session agreed with this practice I realized the main challenge for them was coming up with affirmations to use and numerous times I was asked to give some examples of positive affirmations.
Here is a list of affirmations (mantras) that can be used daily to practice the habit of using positive statements to feed your mind with uplifting thoughts. Sample affirmations to get you started….
- My potential is boundless
- I act like the person I want to be
- I am ready to live the life I deserve
- I acknowledge my own self-worth and my confidence is soaring
- My life is getting better and better each day
- Money is flowing to me now
- Prosperity/success is my natural state of mind.
- My attitude grows happier and healthier every single day.
- Everything always turns out great
- I love my fast growing business
- I release fear and worry and I give myself permission to be happy
- I have the daring to dream and the courage to do
- My life is filled with abundance, success and joy!
- I have a financially profitable business!
- My future is glorious, it’s unfolding perfectly. My life is filled with ABUNDANCE, SUCCESS, AND JOY!
Additional tips for creating successful affirmations…
- Keep your affirmations Positive, in the Present Tense and Personal.
- To make an affirmation more believable, if to you in its original state it feels untrue, use words in the affirmation such as, “becoming”, “choose” or “willing”. Example: “I am wealthy.” to “I am becoming wealthy.”
“SHE QUIETLY EXPECTED GREAT THINGS TO HAPPEN TO HER, AND NO DOUBT THAT’S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY THEY DID.” – Zelda Fitzgerald
