Thinking back over an enjoyable evening with friends, I realized why I felt the time spent with them was so up-lifting. The conversation was filled with upbeat, and positive energy.
I guess you can boil it down to the fact that I was in the company of Champions. Champions are people of commitment with the conviction to take their efforts to new heights whether they are completing goals or planning to get started toward their next goals.
Champions are believers in their dreams and have a winning attitude. Are you a Champion thinker? Do you believe that the victory is won in your ‘thinking state’ before the work is completed?
You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be! By: Donna Levine
There Is Inside You
All Of The Potential
To Be Whatever You Want To Be;
All Of The Energy
To Do Whatever You Want To Do.
Imagine Yourself As You Would Like To Be,
Doing What You Want To Do,
And Each Day, Take One Step
Towards Your Dream.
And Though At Times It May Seem Too
Difficult To Continue,
Hold On To Your Dream.
One Morning You Will Awake To Find
That You Are The Person You Dreamed Of,
Doing What You Wanted To Do,
Simply Because You Had The Courage
To Believe In Your Potential
And To Hold On To Your Dream.
This poem reminds us of the hidden potential we all have.
To be successful you must take the first step and then keep going. So many people give up before they truly get started or stop before they see the full results. How sad because most times they are just a breath away from a successful outcome.
This is your future so give it all you’ve got! It’s OK to start small, as long as you keep going because over time and with repetition those LITTLE things will turn into BIG results.
Each Day Just….
IMPROVE A LITTLE MORE – your attitude, self-image and courtesy.
PRACTICE A LITTLE MORE – discipline, responsibility.
PLAN A LITTLE MORE – create a plan of action and stick to it.
PRIORITIZE A LITTLE MORE – make a list of top ‘priority projects’ and determine how you plan to implement them.
FOCUS A LITTLE BIT MORE – give full attention to each project you pursue.
SET MORE DEADLINES – Parkinson’s Law states “Work expands to the time available for its completion.” Set firm deadlines for the tasks you want to accomplish.
BELIEVE A LITTLE MORE (IN YOURSELF) – practice positive success affirmations daily…. “I am successful because I have stretched the boundaries of my belief and condensed the boundaries of my excuses.”
Some years ago I had the opportunity to hear Wanda Dalby, NSD Emeritus explain 3 Types of People:
- THE CLIMBER – is a find-a-way or makes-a-way. Someone who refuses to give up. She knows the Victory is worth the effort.
- THE CAMPER – is a starter but not a finisher. Someone comfortable with sameness, not success. The camper is busy maintaining what she has that she does not see opportunities to grow and expand her business.
- THE QUITTER – does not believe in their own potential or the potential of the goal they are pursuing ever being a successful. AND I add a 4th type of person…
- THE CHAMPION – Characteristics of the champion:
- Strives to find out how great he or she can be
• Talks soft, plays big
• Hates to lose, but is not afraid to lose
• Goes through the fire to reach their goals
• Always competes with purpose and passion
• Learns lessons from losses
• Lives in the present moment
• Focuses on continuous daily improvement
• Does not base his or her self-worth on the scoreboard – LIST is by Jim Afremow
“TO BE A GREAT CHAMPION YOU MUST
BELIEVE YOU ARE THE BEST.
IF YOU ARE NOT, PRETEND YOU ARE!”
